Texas Tech Credit score Union to fund Raider Purple statue

Texas Tech will receive its newest addition to the Public Artwork Collection thanks to a generous $150,000 reward from the Texas Tech Credit rating Union: A lifestyle-sized bronze statue of Raider Red. 

Coming off the mascot program’s 1st Nationwide Cheerleaders Association’s national championship, the statue will depict Raider Crimson on his way to Jones AT&T Stadium and be situated on the southwest corner of Akron Avenue and Drive of Champions in close proximity to the Frazier Alumni Pavilion.

“We are grateful for the aid of the Texas Tech Credit rating Union and its enthusiasm for Raider Crimson,” stated Texas Tech University President Lawrence Schovanec. “This statue will embody its generosity and the spirit of all those who have contributed to the 50-year legacy of our mascot.”

The initiative for a Raider Pink statue on campus began in the 1990s, and a fund from 3 many years of generous donors who resided with the Texas Tech Alumni Association will dietary supplement the credit rating union’s present.
