The Nittany Lions have commitments from four — Nicholas Singleton, Tyreese Fearbry, Mehki Flowers and Keon Wylie — of the top five players in PennLive’s latest rankings for the class and six players overall. But they are not the only school doing well in the Keystone State in this cycle. Check out what Rutgers did in getting pledges from Samuel Brown and Anthony Johnson. And how about Coastal Carolina sneaking in and picking up a pair of high-upside offensive linemen in Nick Del Grande and Frankie Richardson? Army, Navy and Air Force have made some nice pickups, too.
The following is a quick look at each player from Pa. who has committed to play in college from the class along with a bio and links to their highlight (HUDL) films as well as their Twitter bios so coaches and fans can check them out. Think we missed a guy? Follow @SportsByBLinder on Twitter and let us know about it.

Jake Reid
School: Malvern Prep
Position: K
HT/WT: 6-2, 195
Committed to: Navy
The Reid File: The Navy commit has a nice build and a leg to match with 16 touchbacks last season and field goals of 37 and 44 yards.

Shane Reynolds
School: Garnet Valley
Position: LB
HT/WT: 6-1, 210
Committed to: Navy
The Reynolds File: Reynolds is a Navy commit. He also plays running back, and he runs well enough that he could play there at some level or, perhaps, even slot in as an H-Back. However, with his frame, speed and athleticism, we think he could be a full-time linebacker — a position he also plays in high school — at the next level.

Neo Vossschulte
School: Episcopal Academy
Position: TE
HT/WT: 6-4, 190

The Vossschulte File: The Army commit has a big frame and catches it well. He could be a big, position-type receiver at the next level or, perhaps, with a year or two in a college weight room he could even be a tight end.

Tanner Maddocks
School: Fleetwood
Position: QB
HT/WT: 6-1, 180
Committed to: Villanova
The Maddocks File: Maddocks’ recruitment really picked up steam through the spring and he has committed to Villanova. He’s a nice athlete who can break down a defense with his running ability. He has a nice arm with some zip, and throws well on the run, too.

Jamir Reyes
School: Imhotep
Position: S
HT/WT: 6-1, 170
Committed to: Army
The Reyes File: Reyes may be overshadowed a bit because Imhotep’s defensive backfield has been filled with high-level D1 talent the past couple seasons, but he’s got a nice build to go with length and athleticism which make him an interesting prospect, too. He has committed to Army.

Kareem Lewis
School: Roman Catholic
Position: LB
HT/WT: 6-1, 200
Committed to: UConn
The Lewis File: The UConn commit plays safety for his team, but with his size and strength we are projecting him as a linebacker. He is a nice athlete who runs well, can cover and plays the ball well, but he can shed and get to the ball with force, too.
Twitter: @Kareemme6

Justin Holmes
School: Northwestern Lehigh
Position: QB
HT/WT: 6-3, 210
Committed to: Kent State
The Holmes File: The Kent State commit has a big frame and moves extremely well. Holmes has a good arm, too, and he can throw on the run. He can also do damage with designed running plays. He’s a physical guy, and we like what he might be able to do at quarterback. That said, if that doesn’t work out for some reason, he could be an interesting linebacker or H-Back type. He passed for 1,326 yards and 16 touchdowns, ran for 1,070 yards and 13 more scores and recorded 42 tackles and an interception as a junior.

Troy Collard wants to be a fighter pilot so he is headed to play at Air Force to, likely, play linebacker.
Vicki Vellios Briner | Special to PennLiveVicki Vellios Briner | Special to PennLive
Troy Collard
School: Cumberland Valley
Position: LB
HT/WT: 6-3, 220
Committed to: Air Force
The Collard File: The Air Force commit runs well and can catch so there may be teams that view him as a tight end, but we believe his size, length and athleticism translate well to defense. He can cover well enough to play safety, but his frame suggests he will be best at linebacker, and he says that is where the Falcons plan on him playing. Interesting side note: his brother attends West Point, and he chose Air Force because he wants to be fighter pilot. He caught six passes for 142 yards and two touchdowns, and added 42 tackles, six for loss, with a sack as a junior.

D’Angelo Stocker
School: Malvern Prep
Position: S
HT/WT: 5-11, 160
Committed to: Richmond
The Stocker File: The Richmond commit is another guy who would be on the team if we built a track squad from these rankings. He’s a legit sprinter, and reportedly clocked a 4.37, 40 at Wake Forest camp. So, yeah, he can cover a lot of ground on the backend and does a good job of playing the ball. Stocker is fluid and comes out of the backpedal and drives through the ball quickly and easily. He is physical for his size, too, and will put a big hit on a ball carrier.

Rashan Murray

The Hoffman File: The Virginia Tech commit is a nice athlete who uses his long arms to fend off tackles and get into the backfield. He reportedly ran well at some camps this summer, and has a frame that can add mass. It feels like he’s a guy who is just scratching the surface of his potential.

Charles Kreinbucher
School: Butler
Position: TE
HT/WT: 6-6, 220
Committed to: Akron
The Kreinbucher File: The Akron commit has a big, long frame that should be capable of adding some more muscle and mass. And, when that happens, it’s going to be interesting to see the finished product because he’s a long-strider who splits out wide for his team and catches it well and he could be a nice target next-level for the Zips.

Khalif Kemp
School: Imhotep

Nick Bryan
School: Thomas Jefferson
Position: G

The Bryan File: The Kent State commit a big, strong guy who can also play defensive tackle. For now, we’ll take his athleticism, foot work, ability to move and strength at the point of attack at guard because we believe he has a chance to be pretty, darned good there.

Joden Nelson
School: York
Position: G
HT/WT: 6-4, 280
Committed to: UConn
The Nelson File: The UConn commit is a guy we missed on the first couple cycles through, but he has been gaining some nice momentum in recruiting circles of late. Check out his Twitter and you’ll catch a bunch of clips of him lifting and you can see him getting stronger with each clip. It’s a fun progression. There’s also a clip of him dunking a basketball floating around out there which is to point out he’s a better athlete than most guys this size. He moves well, has good feet, and does a good job of getting to the second level to make his block. And once he is one a guy, he locks them up through the play. Nelson plays tackle for his team, but we think he will be a guard in college.

J.R. Strauss
School: Exeter Township
Position: LB
HT/WT: 6-2, 215
Committed to: Villanova
The Strauss File: The first clip of his highlight film is him breaking off a long touchdown run against CD East, and that school has some big-time sprinters, so you know Strauss can run. The Villanova commit is a guy who many in central Pa. have seen coming for a while, and now college coaches are getting on board because he combines that solid speed with good athleticism and a nice frame and that makes him a playmaking linebacker prospect.

Nick Del Grande
School: Lampeter-Strasburg
Position: T
HT/WT: 6-4, 255
Committed to: Coastal Carolina
The Del Grande File: We’ve had Del Grande all over the board — even at defensive tackle last time — but he is committed to Coastal Carolina to play offensive tackle. No issues with that because the guy is just a good football player. Del Grande is powerful, fires off the ball with good leverage, and finishes his blocks. He moves well, too, and always seems to be working to get better.
Twitter: @NickDelGrande24

Frankie Richardson
School: Gettysburg
Position: T
HT/WT: 6-5, 285
Committed to: Coastal Carolina
The Richardson File: The Coastal Carolina commit still needs some refinement but he’s a big-framed kid with long limbs who lines inside and out on defense for his team. That said, we think his next level position will be tackle where his length and athleticism could allow him to develop into a nice player.

Jeremiah Hasley
School: Pine-Richland
Position: LB
HT/WT: 6-3, 210
Committed to: Duke
The Hasley File: The Duke commit has a great frame and great versatility. The guy lines up on offense and can be an H-back type, but he’s a playmaker and a difference maker at linebacker where his speed and athleticism allow him to get to the ball with ease. He had 60 tackles — 11.5 for loss — with two sacks for the 5A state champions as a junior.
Twitter: @jeremiahasley

Sean FitzSimmons
School: Central Valley
Position: DT
HT/WT: 6-2, 275
Committed to: Pitt
The FitzSimmons File: The Pitt commit has been ultra-productive for several seasons for a team which has played in two consecutive state title games, winning one. FitzSimmons moves well for a guy his size, gets off the ball and gets after it. He’s strong too, and can overpower blockers or toss them to the side with ease. He’s one of those bowling ball of butcher knives guys that you like to have in the middle of your defense. He was credited with 18 sacks as a junior.

The Moore File: He’s a Virginia Tech commit and the brother of current Hokies lineman Kaden Moore. Braelin looks pretty special, too. Moore is a powerful guy with a nasty streak who finishes his blocks. He has good hands and quicks for a guy his size, too, and that also makes him a capable defensive tackle.

Patrick Body
School: Gateway

The Body File: Body could very well be a big, physical corner at the next level because he has the fluidity, footwork and hips for it, but he might best fit at safety where his speed will allow him to over ground and make plays on the backend. He plays receiver, too, and he can run, but we believe he is a gamechanger in the secondary.

Coltin Deery

The Deery File: The guy is a wrestler, and a good one at that. So, you know the mentality that’s there, and it shows up on the football field in the form of a nice little mean streak. He can play defensive tackle, but he is headed to Maryland to play guard. Deery plays with good leverage and packs a punch in those hands. When he fires them into defenders, they go backward, and Deery wins.

Max Bowman
School: West Chester East
Position: T
HT/WT: 6-7, 290
Committed to: Harvard
The Bowman File: We feel like we had Bowman in our rankings before anyone else, but that is more of a credit to the coaches over at West Chester East because they have been telling us he was coming for some time now. And, well, when a guy is a 6-6, 290-pound freshman or sophomore or whatever it was when those guys first sent him over, you can’t help but look. And, yes, Bowman, seemingly, has always been a giant. Perhaps because he has been so big for so long, Bowman handles himself well with good feet and mobility which allow him to get to the next level to make blocks. He’s powerful, too, and showed versatility by moving inside and lining up at center when his team needed it this season. He has shown improvement each season and there’s no reason to think that trend won’t continue. He is also, apparently, smarter than just about all of us because he has committed to Harvard.

Donovan Hinish

The Hinish File: Central Catholic just keeps producing big-time defensive linemen, and here comes another one. The Notre Dame commit really emerged as a junior. The guy is lightning quick off the ball and plays with excellent leverage and strength. That makes him a tough block and a constant disruptor. He played on the offensive line, too, and could also make for a good guard prospect, but we like him as a defensive tackle.

Beau Pribula is a dual-threat at quarterback.
Mark Pynes | [email protected]
Beau Pribula
School: Central York
Position: QB
HT/WT: 6-2, 205
Committed to: Penn State
The Pribula File: The Penn State commit said James Franklin compared him to Trace McSorley, and you can see some of that because Pribula can run it and throw it. But, Pribula is also bigger than McSorley, and he is trending toward being a better athlete and quarterback prospect than him. Pribula, who told PennLive he had been timed at 4.6 in the 40, started out in our rankings as a freshman at “athlete,” because with his brother, current Delaware quarterback Cade Pribula, under center he slotted in at receiver and safety. And the guy is certainly a good enough athlete to play college football, somewhere, at either of those spots. Maybe most exciting about Pribula though is this is a guy who is shown large improvements from season-to-season. So, he has yet to hit his ceiling, and his junior year was pretty special — he passed for 2,156 yards and 34 touchdowns and ran for 519 yards and 14 more scores — as he led Central York to a state title appearance. If he continues that upward trajectory, Penn State is going to get a really intriguing athlete who can run it and throw it, and could make for some offensive fireworks.

HT/WT: 6-0, 200
Committed to: Wisconsin
The Yacamelli File: For any of the 2022 guys reading this and upset about where they are ranked or for those not ranked at all, we present Yacamelli. Where did we have this guy ranked previously? Well, he wasn’t even in the top 100, so he makes the single largest jump — 106 spots — perhaps, in the history of our rankings. That’s right, we missed on Cade up until now. Understand, anyone in our rankings is a player we think can play college football at some level. Cade has always been good, too. But what we missed was the transition from good to great from that sophomore to junior film. That is what helped open Wisconsin’s eyes, and that is where Yacamelli is slated to play his college ball. So, what does the film show? Yacamelli has excellent speed and vision, and he can turn a seam into six before a defense knows what is going on. His cuts are clean and he accelerates through them to pull away. He ran for 680 yards as a junior. He is also an excellent receiver who caught 18 passes for 225 yards and 10 touchdowns. We don’t mind guys proving we had them ranked too low. Cade did that.

That helped him transform from a solid small college prospect to a big-time tackle recruit. He’s got good feet and strength and does a nice job at the left tackle spot for his team. Considering his still growing frame, it’s fair to assume he still has tremendous upside, too. Also, here’s one you don’t see every day for offensive tackles — Brubaker is a competitive swimmer.

ShippensburgÕs Anthony Smith rushes the passer in a game against Mechanicsburg last season.
Anthony Smith
School: Shippensburg
Position: DT
HT/WT: 6-7, 285
Committed to: Minnesota
The Smith File: The Minnesota commit has the DeForest Buckner build and some nice athleticism. He’s also still pretty raw because, a little more than a year ago, he was still thinking his future might be in basketball. He’s still hooping, too, and shut down a summer league game in June after shattering a backboard with a dunk. He played on the edge for the Greyhounds the past couple seasons and at tight end, too. His size will probably mean he moves inside at some point, but the potential is sky high with the guy. He had 43 tackles, 14 for loss, with nine sacks as a junior. He also played tight end and moved to fullback on the goal line and finished with 10 touchdowns.

The Wylie File: Wylie, who committed to Penn State on July 3, moved into our top five and it’s because of his first step. And that first step is elite, allowing Wylie to get around opposing tackles before they are even out of their stances. That allowed him to record 10 sacks in just four games earlier this spring. Imhotep coach Devon Johnson says Wylie is one of the greatest competitors he has coached and called him an “alpha male” and “fearless.” Most recruiting sites have him as a three-star prospect, but we think his speed off the edge might just allow him to far exceed those projections.

The Flowers File: The Penn State commit exudes confidence at all times, and that’s only cool if you back it up. And Flowers backs it up in a big way. He helped lead Steel-High to the Class A state title in 2020, and was PennLive’s All-PA Player of the Year after catching 60 passes for 1,006 yards and 15 touchdowns while also recording 36 tackles with five interceptions and 10 pass breakups. He has said he wants to play both ways in college, and the reality is Flowers could be an elite safety or receiver. The Singleton File: The Penn State commit was compared to former Heisman Trophy winner Rashaan Salaam by a former trainer, and we can see that. Singleton has a thick and powerful lower body, and he uses that to power through defenders and he can also change gears and accelerate out of traffic, leaving the noise behind. He has been good since his freshman season and has improved – not incrementally but exponentially — each season so he appears to be a hard worker, too. He is already his school’s all-time leading rusher, and helped lead his team to within a win of playing for the 5A state title this season after averaging 12.5 yards per carry. He finished with 1,303 yards and 22 touchdowns. He ran for more than 3,000 yards and 50 touchdowns the past two seasons. He also clocked a 10.89 in the 100 in track.
